Bogor, (BERITASATOE.COM) – Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) Republik Indonesia mengadakan Pelatihan Petani dan Penyuluh serta Pengukuhan 2.000 Duta Petani Milenial dan Duta Petani Andalan, bertempat di Gedung Aula Bina Karakter, Pusat Pelatihan Manajemen dan Kepemimpinan, Ciawi, Bogor pada Jumat (6/8).
Mentan Syahrul Yasin Limpo mengatakan ini merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk menumbuhkan gairah bisnis pertanian di kalangan generasi muda dalam mendukung regenerasi petani. “Melalui para duta, diharapkan dapat menjadi role model yang menginspirasi, memotivasi, dan menjadi mitra bisnis petani lainnya,” kata Syahrul.
Ia mengatakan, Kementan menargetkan pada tahun 2024 setidaknya harus ada 2,5 juta petani milenial di Indonesia. Petani muda, menurut Syahrul, diyakini lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam menjalankan bisnis pertanian. Tidak hanya di level hulu namun hingga ke hilir. Di mulai dari kegiatan penanaman, pascapanen, packaging, hilirisasi produk, hingga pemasaran dan perdagangan. “Petani milenial harus sudah memiliki konsep market jadi di hulu budidayanya baik, lalu di pasar dia markettable,” ujarnya
Pihaknya pun mendorong agar petani milenial menggunakan fasilitas Kreditu Usaha Rakyat (KUR) yang disiapkan pemerintah. Tahun ini dialokasikan plafon KUR sebanyak Rp 70 triliun dengan bunga 6% per tahun. Fasilitas pembiayaan itu dapat memudahkan petani untuk mengembangkan skala usahanya.
“Menjadi petani adalah pilihan yang baik, oleh karena itu kami butuh duta petani, termasuk yang kita kukuhkan hari ini,” kata Syahrul
Dalam kesempatan tersebut Presiden Joko Widodo hadir secara virtual, sedangkan Bupati Bogor, Ade Yasin turut mendampingi Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Republik Indonesia, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. (San/hms)
